God Of War 3
In The End There Will Only Be Chaos

I’ve never really been a fan of
the God Of War games but when I saw this one it look good so I did a
bit of research into it seeing if I would like it, watched videos looked
at pictures and get to demo of the PSN store and I was not disappointed
it was great and then I went out and got the game. God Of War 3 is a
game that is only on PlayStation 3, it is the last in the 3 part
trilogy. Santa Monica studios have developed the games. God of war 3 has
great graphics and a plot that will have you on the edge of your seat,
and wanting you to carry on playing until you find out what happens. In
the other GoW games (i think it's the first one) you are given the task
of killing another of the god but to do this you need to find a power
which will let you do so, so you have to find Pandora’s Box (which also
has a key part to play in GoW 3) with the power you have to kill The God
Of War Ares. As you might no in the box there is all the evils in the
world but it was closed in time to keep hope in, the people at Santa
Monica have played with this a bit, anyway the evils have infected the
Olympian gods turning them evil but as you kill then the world gets
worse.
The story is set in a brutal realm of Greek mythology.
You will play as Kratos, an ex Spartan warrior . He is out for his
revenge on the Gods of Olympus, after the death of his family all Kratos
wants it revenge and this consumes him through out the game but there
is one person in the game that Kratos does care about and this one
person helps him to get his revenge, you do find out that it was just
for person gain though. There is another that Kratos also grows feeling
for Pandora herself. At the start of the game he has no need of her but
then he finds out he does need her to get to the box. To get to where
Kratos need to get to he needs to do a lot as before he can get to Zeus,
there are a lot of other Gods in the way as well, including Zeus’s
brothers Poseidon and Hades also his son Hercules, there are others that
you will recognise. With each new god that Kratos or you will kill
there will be something left by them called Godly Possessions, these can
help you thought out the game but some you will have to wait until you
have finished it to use them.
The environment in this game is
very very good, it looks beautiful. Even when you first start playing
the game you can tell that there has been a lot of work been put into
it. The scale of it as well is just incredible. You can really tell the
size of the environment and this is in all of the places you will be
taken in the game, all the environments but this is nothing new for game
of this type and only on the PS3 look at Uncharted for example.
There
is a wide rage of baddies you will come across. There are the basic
warriors with no armour making them very easy to kill as you get more
into the game and get more upgrades for weapons and more weapons. You
will get the warriors with armour and ones with both armour and shields
which you will have to break first so you can damage them. There are
also the classic mythological baddies as well, the first one you might
come across will be Gorgon (the same thing Medusa is) there will be a
few of them but they are easy to kill. There are Mentors, there will be
ones with out armour and some with and bigger weapons and then there are
the Cyclops as well armoured and un-armoured, the armoured ones will
have better weapons as well
Then there are the God, like I’ve
said before you will have Zeus, Poseidon, Hades and Hercules but you
will have others to Hermes and Kronos and the main others ones you will
have to fight but there are a few others that are very easy to kill.
The
game play is good but can get very repetitive at time but you can mix
it up with different moves and the different weapons can make a change
as well but I found the best one is the one you start off with. There
are other things that will split up the combat, there are puzzles you
will need to solve to more on some times but this is not often. I liked
it as it different from anything else I have and I enjoyed it a lot and I
think others will do to.
There is no multiplayer for God Of War 3
but I don’t think it really needs one there is a lot to do and find,
Titan mode will keep you playing for a long time just trying to kill the
bosses takes a while and then there is the challenge of Olympus which
has a wide range of things to do and different ways you have to over
come each one like only using your hands to kill some enemies which are
hard enough with weapons.
Just for you people that might not no a
lot of Greek Mythology I’ll fill you in with what I no as you will need
to no a bit for the game. The Titans ruled before the Zeus and his
brother did the main Titan was Kronos the father of Zeus and his
brothers. Zeus, Poseidon and Hades started a war with the Titans. The
war was finally won on the Plain of Tatarus when the Titan’s
surrendered. Kronos and the other titan’s were left here for a
punishment for the war. What happened to the other Titans is unknown.
This is when Zeus and his brother took control of the world.
But
is this really the end of the GoW games after getting all the trophies
you will be given a website not a lot on it just a picture of rain
falling. Every 10 days it changes. There is a bar in the top right that
fills up a quarter each time, this has a lot of people wondering what it
mean. Could it be a teaser trailer? Or could it mean nothing?
Overall
the game is very good, hours of fun. It also has a story line you can
get into to and want to no what happens and if you want some trophies
there are some really easy ones but if you are willing to explore the
whole game there is a lot to do.
