New Zealand vs. United States of America

New Zealand vs. United States of America

Postby benjiman0 » Wed Oct 29, 2014 6:46 am

Hello to all of PGz,
So this weekend is the rugby match between NZL and USA, and it would be a great way to see a sport so uncommonly shown to American citizens, yet so widely shown in New Zealand. I cannot speak for the entirety of NZ, but I am excited to see this match this weekend, and am calling anyone that doesn't have plans to try and watch the game, especially if you live in the United States. It's the one game that New Zealand watches religiously, and it would be brilliant to see what the thoughts of American's looking in from the outside as we rarely get the chance to hear it.
NZL vs. USA is being played at Soldier Field stadium in Chicago, Illinois (with all 61,500 seats sold-out) and will be played on NBC Sports on Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. EST.
I hope you take the time to watch something that we watch all too often...

Fuck, I knew Rugby was a decent size in the states considering my brother played for the Texan team there and they toured all around the states playing each other,
But I wouldn't have expected 61.5k person sellout

I've seen the USA team play, they're actually pretty decent, they played in my home city and I saw 1 or 2 of their games in person, it was pretty fun.
I might actually take the time to catch this myself.

Also interesting to see the NZL Maori team played the Eagles in Philly last year, fuck even our own country isn't making these thing apparent otherwise I woulda seen that too

So who won?

Not that it takes a rocket scientist to figure out that the US would suck in rubgy (but would kick the shit out of anyone in football!)

WTF? Did we score by accident or something?

Two penalty conversions yeah, but the USA Eagles played really well, they managed to keep the score contentious for the first 30 minutes worth of Rugby, but it ultimately comes down to endurance and not getting tired. I thoroughly enjoyed that game!
