Mission Impossible Request.... Voice overs needed

Mission Impossible Request.... Voice overs needed

Postby jloco11 » Sat Mar 29, 2014 1:42 am

I have 2 openings for "chopper pilots" in the next MI video. It's free and open to anyone who wants to be a pilot (except for Haytred since people know his voice already). I will be using the best 2 pilot voices, so multiple people can make submissions for the video... but just submitting a clip doesn't mean I will use it.

Anyone who submits an audio clip by next Wednesday, will get a free HFC video... and this includes banned people. :-D

You can do the lines for both pilots, however, I will be using 2 different voices for both pilots.... it will not be the same person doing both lines.

Pilot #1:

Squad leader, do you read me? Over
This is Pigeon 1 in the sky, awaiting your instructions
Well.......... is there any particular position you need me in?
(have this line come across as if you're confused asking a question)
Copy that sir.

Pilot #2:

Squad leader, this is Pigeon 2, do you read me?
I'm awaiting your orders sir.
Roger that

EDIT

Some tips on how to do the lines, which will help make it easier to do:

1 - Do not just read the lines off the screen. I'll tell you now, after doing all these MI videos when you read from a script, you will sound like you read from a script.
2 - Say the lines over and over and over and over and over and over again until it becomes like a conversation. I will tell you right now, it does not come together after 1 try. To this day, I still do my MI lines about 3-4 times a piece to avoid sounding like a script
3 - Play your audio back. Listen to it, see if YOU feel like you're hearing someone read a line. If you hear yourself sounding like you're reading a line, then others will as well.
4 - This is not acting class or the movies. You want to come across as natural, not like a Broadway play. The lines will sound best, when you sound like a normal human being instead of an actor

Also, in case he's around.... Badger, I need another evil, bad guy voice :-D Just 1 line this time:

*chuckle* I see your errand boy cleared all the Ghosts out. Nuke the place to cover our tracks.

Pilot #2 Voice-over
Line 1: here
Line 2: here
Line 2 (Re-attempt): here
Line 3: here
Line 3 (Re-attempt): here
Lines 1, 2, and 3 (recorded at differently to the previous three): here

I didn't really know the context of the storyline, so this was just a shot in the dark.

To be honest, I think we'll need some raw footage to get a feeling for the mission. Otherwise we're just grey emotionless vocalists.

There's really no footage to provide... I just need people to sound like a military person following orders. Serious, to the point as if talking to a superior officer.

Well that's convenient, I just spent the whole day at a MEPS (Military Enlistment Processing Station) talking to superior officers. Most of it was medical physicals and paper work, but we were briefed by the 1st Sergeant.

People know your voice... I wanted to get different people in who's voices they won't recognize.

But the sound of drunken HAYTRED might make it difficult to recognise him! And thinking on it now, I should've been drunk doing mine, TWO drunk pilots is better than one!
