CoD WW2 Pre-Release info

So we have the private beta on the 25th-28th August for the PS4, and 1st-4th Sept for the Xbone/ PS4; and now he have the Nazi Zombies mode being revealed tomorrow (20th July). A few things to know:

- David Tennant (Tenth Doctor - Doctor Who), Elodie Yung (Elektra - Daredevil 2016), Katheryn Winnick (Lagertha - Vikings) and Udo Kier (Dr Lucas Kreiger - Far Cry) are all confirmed to be in the Zombie Mode
- Multiplayer will have five classes, known as Divisions, whom have predetermined perks and weapon types. Perks are replaced with Basic Training, which essentially allows you to rank up your available 'perks' and assign them to various Divisions.
- War mode is a wave style game mode that pits each team against the clock to perform a number of objectives, with the team that completes it the fastest the winner.
- Characters in MP can be almost fully customizable, with gender, skin color and outfits all interchangeable, allowing you to play as (among others) a female Japanese soldier, an African-American soldier, or even a black female Nazi! I know it isn't historically accurate, but it will be fucking hilarious to see this happen.

is zombies mode not stale by now? Seriously if its this popular, why not release a standalone zombies game?
People are making a useless controversy over the character customization. Its a video game, not a documentary. Especially the multiplayer.

I thought it was stale after BO2, so when Ghosts gave us Extinction Mode it was a great change of pace. Then AW gave us Exo Zombies (bleh), BO3 gave us more Nazi Zombie convoluted stories, and IW had its own take on Zombies. So for Sledgehammer to go with yet another variant on Nazi Zombies, it is just too repetitive now. What should have happened years ago was Activision should have got one of the companies to release a standalone Zombies game, with all of the maps and one cohesive storyline.

Controversy will strike anywhere for any reason. CoDWW2 doesn't use the swastika, it uses the Iron Cross of the WW1 German Army. People went apeshit for the historical inaccuracy. Same with having female and black soldiers serving in WW2. Hell, look at the controversy for recent announcements, such as Jodie Whittaker as Doctor Who, a female Doctor for the first time in 54 years. Same with the live action Aladdin remake, with Naomi Scott (British Indian) playing Princess Jasmine (Arab). People are going nuts over it.

People took offence to Idris Elba playing Heimdall in Thor back in 2010, but he played the part to perfection. You get controversy everywhere from idiots who don't like change. It doesn't matter in the long run.

Doesn't the removal of the swastika only occur in multiplayer?

I vaguely remember being annoyed about it until I read they tried to keep the campaign accurate

It's amazing that zombies has come this far! And the only reason for it, is because W@W's multiplayer was wretched compared to COD4, their campaign was nowhere near the quality COD4 produced the year before..... but their easter egg/bonus level was the only thing COD4 didn't have.

That's why it was popular, because everything else was shit and it was the only portion of the game that exceeded COD4.

Pretty much. When they realized people wanted Zombies, they put new maps in the DLC Packs as incentives for people to buy the MP maps, even though barely anyone played them. In BO1 they kept up the Zombies feed by throwing a 'remastered' pack of all four original maps as well as a new map.

BO2 saw them try to turn it into a full fledged game mode with Grief mode, but not many people played it. BO3 was just pure oversaturation, especially with the Chronicles DLC, 8 're-remastered' maps from the last three games. Throw in AW and IW's hot messes of a Zombie mode, and it has gotten stale. A horde mode like Extinction was what the franchise needed, and had enough of a story to flesh it out into a second game.

Their zombie mode looks better than any COD in the past 4 years!

Maybe SH should just do a horror survival game instead of COD

Last one to be 'Boots on Ground' was Ghosts...

Personally, I just want it not to be a copy paste job like IW was. If it is original, it should do well. If they fix problems, it should do well.

If they make problems out of thin air, or go back to using shit like SBMM, well, it's going to be one hard ride for them.
