Dark Souls: Combating Early Sales

Apparently some retailers have been selling Dark Souls early, so in a stroke of genious, From Software are going after them in the best way possible; in-game. They'll be sending high powered Black Phantoms after anybody playing the game before release date.

I love when developers think of ways to do inventive things like this. Why punish gamers by banning accounts when you can fuck with them even more by sending ridiculous monsters after them, and with a vengeance.

Only problem is, it encourages madmen such as myself to try and get an early copy to see if they can be killed...

Well if you do manage to get a copy early then you can just attempt that on a different account so that if it was to make the game impossible then you have not messed up your main account.

I don't think you'd need to, the intention is only to make it impossible until release the super-powered black phantoms won't appear after that! I'm pretty sure it could be completed offline though without any such interference.

There are few words to describe how perfect that is and I can't think of any of them. Great find.
