Ebay help

Postby Jim_and_tonic » Sat Jan 07, 2012 12:18 pm

I bought an xbox 360 the other day, when I try to connect it online I found out it has been banned. The guy selling it didn't list it as banned. Do I have the right to return it.

this is the description,

"2008 X Box 360 60GB console in working order at present with,

battery charger and games,

LEGO HARRY POTTER YEARS 1-4

SMACK DOWN VERSUS RAW 2008

PROJECT GOTHAM RACING 3

UP

LARA CROFT TOMb RAIDER LEGEND"

I'm am sure I would be able to return it just double checking.

Yeah should be fine, take photos etc do it quick. Longer you have it easier it'll be for him to say you used it and got banned. In working order is enough of a claim to counteract as it isn't working properly when some core features are banned. eBay can be shits though, sometimes they decide who wins without listening to the claim. You'd probably have more chance saying it never turned up and the guy didn't post it for example (if it wasn't sent by tracked post) this might be too much for their tiny minds.

I would do it. You pretty much bought a useless console. Guaranteed at one point that box was JTAG'd I would just go to a Gamestop or pawn shop and buy it there. Probably much safer and less to deal with the whole shipping such.

yeah I will shift sooner rather then later luckily I haven't paid yet, bastard claimed that it's never been online for two years. £45 couldn't pass it up. although I've got a friend who gave scavenge working parts and place it on another console. to be fair, its got a 60gb hard drive, controller with 7 games so not to bad of a deal but it pissed me off cos if I didn't have the above option I would of wasted time and maybe money.

£45 is pretty damn cheap. How on earth did you get away with not paying on eBay? I'd never ship anything without payment?

I paid the guy at first, then he sent an invoice a few days later asking to pay again. So I cancel my original payment (which he hadn't claimed) so I'll pay the guy once the money is cleared back into my account.

£45 was not bad. Just got to wait until Wednesday to get online.
